Biography
2019
- Completed in the pole vault during both the indoor and outdoor seasons for the Bulldogs.
- Named Honorable Mention All-America by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), becoming first pole vaulter in program history to earn this accolade.
- Became first LA Tech student-athlete to pick up All-America honors since 2016.
- Finished the outdoor season ranked 18th nationally in the pole vault with a season-best mark of 17-06.5 (5.35m) in the finals at the NCAA Championships (6/5), setting a new program record.
- Secured spot at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships (5/23) with a fifth-place finish, posting a mark of 17-05.00 (5.31m).
- Claimed the gold medal at the C-USA Outdoor Championships (5/9) with a mark of 17-03.00 (5.26m).
- Recorded a first-place finish during the indoor season at the Texas A&M Ted Nelson Invitational (1/11) with a mark of 17-01.75 (5.23m).
- Took home the bronze medal at the C-USA Indoor Championships (2/16) with a mark of 16-06.00 (5.03m).
2018
- Competed in the pole vault as a freshman for the Bulldogs in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
- Took home first place in the men's pole vault competition at the C-USA Indoor Championships (2/17) after shattering the Louisiana Tech school record with a mark of 17-0.25 (5.19m) to pick up 10 points for the Bulldogs.
- His first-place mark of 17-0.25 easily broke the school record mark of 16-1.75 set by Gregory Ballard at the 2017 indoor championships, a mark that Courtois himself tied earlier in the 2018 indoor season
- Owns three of the top 10 marks in Louisiana Tech history following his first indoor season.
- Also won first place in the pole vault at the C-USA Outdoor Championships (5/10) after the true freshman shattered the LA Tech school record with a mark of 17-7.25 (5.37m) to earn 10 points for the Bulldogs.
- His mark in the 2018 C-USA Outdoor Championships shattered the school record of 16-8.75 set by Gregory Ballard earlier in 2018.
HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Westgate High School in 2017 … Lettered as a pole vaulter for the Westgate track and field team … Helped lead Westgate to a track and field state championship title, while also earning an individual state championship during his prep career … Coached by Shelton Boutte.
