2021
- Competed in the javelin throw during the 2021 outdoor season
- Finished inside the top three in all five of his competitions
- Broke LA Tech’s school record in the men’s javelin throw at the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational, becoming the first Bulldog to break the 70-meter mark with a first-place heave of 72.51m (237’-11”)
- Marcus’ performance at the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational helped him be named the C-USA’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week on April 28
- Recorded a first-place mark of 71.55m (234'-09") to set a meet record at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster (5/1)
- Placed second at LSU’s Battle on the Bayou with a heave of 68.56m (224’-11”)
- Finished second at the 38th Victor Lopez Classic with a throw of 62.34m (204’-06”)
- Finished third at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships (5/13-16) with a throw of 70.02m (229'-09")
- Qualified for the NCAA East Regionals but did not compete due to injury
Prior to LA Tech: Started his college career at LSU, but he did not compete in an event as a Tiger.
High School:
- Won the 2018 LHSAA 1A State Championship in the javelin throw with a heave of 206’-09.5"
- Earned silver medals at the 2018 LHSAA 1A State Championships in the shot put (52’-03.25”) and discus (152’-05.25”)
- Took fourth at the USATF Junior Championships with a heave of 201’-08”
- Also won the LHSAA 2017 state title in the javelin while representing Cedar Creek High School.
- 2017 LHSAA 1A Outstanding Athlete
- 2017 USATF All-American
- 2018 LHSAA 1A state champion (2018 broke class record)
- Lettered in Football, Basketball, and Track & Field.
PERSONAL:
Harvey Marcus: the son to Amy and Duke Marcus. Born on February 20th, 1999, in Monroe, Louisiana. Tripp's father played as a linebacker for ULM (NLU at the time) on their 1987 national championship team. Tripp has three siblings: Rachel Lindsey, Christian Marcus, Chloe Marcus
