Carson Fryou was hired in the summer of 2024 to be the Associate Director of Broadcasting at Louisiana Tech.
Fryou came to Ruston from Southeastern Louisiana University where he spent five years with the Lions. In his freshman year at the school, he joined the Southeastern Channel, the school’s official television channel that has earned over 500 regional, national and international awards, including 24 Emmy Awards and 77 Emmy nominations.
In his sophomore year, Fryou took control of the sports department as the Director of Game Day Operations, where he was solely in charge of setting up all of the broadcasting equipment for every sports’ home games on ESPN+. He would also report the Saints games on the sideline, where he would interview star players such as Drew Brees, Cameron Jordan, Alvin Kamara, Demario Davis, and many more.
Fryou became the Sports Department Director in his junior year when he assigned student reporters for television packages or live game broadcasts. In his three years as the Sports Department Director, the Southeastern Channel would win over fifteen awards for live game broadcasts and sports reporting. In Fryou’s first season as director, he helped cover and promote a historic season from Walter Payton FCS Player of the Year quarterback Cole Kelley, who would receive an invite to participate in the NFL Combine.
As a senior, Fryou would participate at the Southeast Journalism Conference, where he would win 1st place in Television Sports and 3rd place in News Producing.
