Jakari joins the Louisiana Tech football coaching staff in 2026 as an assistant safeties coach after playing as a defensive back for the Bulldogs for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Foster was one of the top defensive backs in Conference USA, leading the country with eight interceptions in 2025, one of which was returned for a touchdown, en route to being named a Second Team All-CUSA honoree, an AP First Team All-America selection--the first for Louisiana Tech since 2012, and a Walter Camp Second Team All-American. His eight picks are tied with Willie Smith (1995) for the second-most in a single season in program history.
He made an impact in his first season with the Bulldogs in 2024, reigstering 33 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and one pass breakup. He totaled a career-high 11 tackles against UTEP on October 22 before making nine stops in the Independence Bowl vs. Army on December 28. His interception came against Sam Houston, while his forced fumble was at Arkansas.
Prior to LA Tech, Foster spent two seasons at Hutchinson Community College, when the Blue Dragons went 21-2 overall during those years along with a NJCAA National Championship appearance in 2022. He began his collegiate career as a true freshman at North Alabama, playing in three games.
Foster played defensive back and wide receiver at Piedmont High School, where he earned First Team All-State honors as a defensive back in 2019 and 2020. In 2019, he caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the 3A title game against Mobile Christian. He is a native of Piedmont, Alabama.
