LA Tech Tennis Complex
Situated next to Joe Aillet Stadium and the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex are eight lighted tennis courts that make up the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex.
Construction on the facility began in March 2008 and concluded five months later in August. Then on Oct. 15, 2008 as part of the fall schedule, the women's tennis team played and swept Grambling State in their inaugural match at the new facility. A dedication ceremony took place two weeks later as then Tech President Dr. Dan Reneau officially announced it as the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex.
In the early hours of April 25, 2019, an EF3 tornado struck the Louisiana Tech campus and delivered almost complete devastation to the tennis complex. Almost a year later on April 22, 2020, work began on repairing the complex and was completed in late July with the resurfacing of the courts, new fencing and new LED lights. Â
Most recently, the facility received another upgrade with new banners and windscreens that showcase the LA Tech brand as well as another court resurfacing that features light and icy blue color scheme.
The Bulldogs have been a force on their home courts, compiling an impressive all-time spring dual record of 100-32Â over the 16-year history of the facility (note: the 2020 season took place at the Ruston Sports Complex). They reached the coveted milestone of 100 home wins in the 2025 regular season finale, sweeping UTEP and Grambling State to hit the century mark.
LA Tech has posted a winning home record in 14Â consecutive spring seasons, having protected its home courts at an even higher level over the last four seasons with a combined mark of 42-6. Three of those four seasons resulted in double-digit home wins, including the 2025 slate that featured a dominant record of 12-1 as well as a perfect 4-0 mark versus CUSA competition.Â
Another standout year at the LA Tech Tennis Complex occurred during the 2022 spring season when the program played a school record 15 home matches and registered a 13-2 record. During the season, they also set a new school record with 12 straight home victories (April 13, 2021 - March 19, 2022). The record did not last long as it was broken in 2023 with a 13-game home winning streak after LA Tech reeled off 11 straight during the season.
The LA Tech Tennis Complex has seen the Bulldogs host its first-ever conference match on April 8, 2010 against Hawaii. They then notched their first-ever conference win at the facility a few days later on April 10 against San Jose State. Another highlight moment came on April 5, 2016 when they played their first ever home match as a nationally-ranked team (No. 73). They would play the last four home matches of the 2023 season as a ranked team as well, climbing as high as No. 64 in the country.Â
