Tech Looks For First Conference Volleyball Win Versus UNO

RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech volleyball team hopes to end a six match Sun Belt Conference losing streak when the Lady Techsters host New Orleans on Friday night at 7 p.m.

Louisiana Tech (7-14, 0-6) has lost their first six conference matches while UNO comes into the match with a 10-8, 3-3 mark on the season.

Tech junior Julia Mann has eight double-doubles on the season and is leading the SBC in digs with a 3.71 per game average entering the week's action. Mandy Arnold has recovered well from a knee injury and has played well the past week including a 10 dig performance versus Grambling State on Tuesday night and a 14 kills outing against Florida International on Sunday.

Tech won both meetings with the Privateers a year ago but will have to overcome pre-season All-Sun Belt selection Jessica Perdue to get past UNO. Perdue is averaging 4.91 kills per game and has been named the SBC player of the week once this season.

Louisiana Tech also plays a Sun Belt Conference match on Sunday at noon versus South Alabama (6-14, 2-4).
