MUFREESBORO, Tenn. (Sept. 23) - The Louisiana Tech volleyball team dropped their second Sun Belt Conference match in less than 24 hours to Middle Tennessee State (8-15, 5-15, 9-15) on Saturday.
The Lady Techsters fell to 5-9, 0-2 while Middle Tennessee improved to 7-6, 2-0.
Louisiana Tech dropped a match to Western Kentucky on Friday night in three games.
Game one was tight until Middle Tennessee scored the last seven points in the game to take a one game lead, 15-8. Louisiana Tech led game one at one point, 8-7. Middle Tennessee built on their game one win by taking a 10-3 advantage to start the second game of the match. The Lady Raiders cruised on to take a two game advantage in the match by a 15-5 score.
Game three was more of the same as the Lady Raiders stormed out to a 12-4 advantage. The Lady Techsters battled back though and cut the MTSU lead to four points at 12-8 after a kill by Brianna Sibley. Louisiana Tech got to within 12-9 before the Lady Raiders won game three, 15-9, and the match three games to zero.
Rebekah Boyd led Tech with 10 kills and Julia Mann contributed 15 digs.
Louisiana Tech returns to action on Tuesday night when the Lady Techsters host Lousiana-Monroe at 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Assembly Center. The Lady Techsters will be looking to break a three game slide on Tuesday night.
