Box Score RUSTON, La. -- Louisiana Tech wasted another strong pitching performance as the Lady Techsters were unable to score a run in a 1-0 loss to Southeastern Louisiana Tuesday at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
Freshman hurler Sabra Warner (4-5) pitched a complete game five hitter while striking out five. Tech (16-16) entered the top of the seventh inning scoreless with the Lady Lions but surrendered a two-out run on an RBI single by Stacey White.
After SLU (25-14) loaded the bases in the top of the seventh on a single by Heather Dye and consecutive hit batters by Warner, White drilled a 1-1 pitch into left field that dropped in front of a diving Abbra Mack who promptly threw out a potential second run at the plate.
The Lady Techsters put runners on first and third with two outs in the bottom of the seventh before Missy Ladd grounded out to third base to end the game.
Jennifer LaRussa led Tech offensively with two singles while Shameika Cofer and Miranda Knight added singles.
Tech will return to action Friday at 5 p.m. when the Lady Techsters host No. 24 Louisiana-Lafayette in a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader at 5 p.m.
