Tech Golfers 10th At SBC Championships

DENTON, Texas - Louisiana Tech's Haraldur Hemission shot a first day total of 77 to lead the Bulldog golf team at the Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Trophy Club Country Club.
As a team Tech shot a first round total of 314 and stands 10th out of 11 schools, although Head Coach Tom Stinson's squad is only 13 strokes behind Arkansas-Little Rock for first place.
Chris Baker shot a 78 for Tech followed by Scott Rainwater's 79, Jay Caserta's 80 and Sean Knox's 85.
Denver, North Texas and Western Kentucky are tied for second with a team total of 302, followed by Middle Tennessee's 304, South Alabama's 305, Arkansas State's 307, Louisiana-Lafayette's 308 and New Mexico State's 310. New Orleans stands 11th with a first day total of 316.
The tournament is scheduled for two more days of action.
