RUSTON ? The monkey is off the back of the Louisiana Tech volleyball program as the Lady Techsters claimed their first ever Western Athletic Conference league victory on Saturday with a three game win over Boise State (31-29, 30-23, 30-26).

Senior Brianna Sibley was the only member of the current team that had experienced a conference win until the win on Saturday.

?This gets the monkey off our back,? Tech head coach Heather Mazeitis said. ?We did not play our best but we will take the win and build on it.?

Tech (13-11, 1-5 WAC) rallied from a four point deficit in game one to take a one game lead and after rolling past the Broncos (1-17, 0-6 WAC) in game two, the Lady Techsters made a late surge to win game three and the match.

Tech was helped in game three when Boise State was issued a point penalty for a red card.
?Cristine Sant?Anna was fantastic,? Mazeitis added.

Sant?Anna recorded a team high 14 kills in the match and also added nine digs.

Four Lady Techsters had double figures in kills including 11 by Laura Osterhaus.

?Laura played well and she provided a big lift for us,? Mazeitis added.

Osterhaus also had four aces and six digs in the match, both season highs for the sophomore.

Tech hit .290 on the match to .169 for Boise State.

Tech returns to action on Thursday at Centenary at 7 p.m.
