A lack of timely hitting did the Lady Techsters (4-14) in as Tech dropped back-to-back games against Connecticut by the scores of 4-0 and 3-0 in the final day of the Mardi Gras Mambo softball tournament hosted by Nicholls State.

In the first game against UCONN Tech managed six hits, two by shortstop Jennifer LaRussa, but couldn?t string together any consistent offense in the losing effort.

Two Techster errors led to two unearned runs as Tech?s fielding woes continued.
Freshman Kristin Rupp (1-7) picked up the loss, pitching the first 2.1 innings allowing one earned run.

Tech?s second game against the Lady Huskies was a copy of the first one as the Techsters managed six hits as a team but the not big one in dropping a 3-0 contest.

Rupp (1-8) again picked up the loss going six innings allowing three runs while striking out three.

Bridget Broadnax collected two hits in Tech?s final game.

Tech returns to action on Wednesday with a double-header at Northwestern State.
