Techsters come up short in Natchitoches
Rain filled weather conditions limited a scheduled softball double-header to one game only as the Lady Techsters (4-15) fell 4-1 to Northwestern State (2-11) Wednesday night at the Lady Demon softball complex.
Senior starter Marla Pinkston (3-4) picked up the loss for Tech to drop to below .500 on the season.
Pinkston was again the victim of shaky Techster defense as two Tech errors led to a couple unearned runs.
Tech managed five hits on the game with sophomore center fielder Amber Miles driving in Tech?s lone run in the top of the seventh inning on a RBI single.
Later junior shortstop Casey Reiff stepped up to the plate representing the tying run but grounded out to the shortstop to end the game.
No Lady Techster managed more than one hit on the day.
Tech returns to action on Saturday with a double-header at Houston starting at 1 p.m.
