Meeking Adds All-Louisiana Honors

Louisiana Tech senior forward Antonio "Tiger" Meeking is a first-team selection of the Louisiana Men's Collegiate Basketball Team.

Meeking, an All-Western Athletic Conference selection and first-teamer on the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 8 team, is also one of 64 collegiate seniors picked to play in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament from April 9 - April 12 in Portsmouth, Va.The Portsmouth Invitational Tournament will be scouted by all 29 NBA teams, the NBA Operations Office and the NBA Scouting Office.

Meeking finished his career as Tech's 11th All-Time leading scorer with 1,541 points and 10th All-Time leading rebounding with 813 boards. Meeking also finished his Tech career ranked No. 5 in school blocked shots with 61.

The 6'8", 265-pound product of Farmerville (La.) High School finished the season as the Western Athletic Conference's No. 3 scorer with 17.9 points per game and league's No. 6 rebounder with 7.3 boards per contest.

LSU's Ronald Dupree was named the Player of the Year while LSU's John Brady was named Coach of the Year. Newcomer of the Year accolades went to LSU's Jaime Lloreda while Freshman of the Year honors were shared by Grambling State's Brion Rush and Northwestern State's Jermaine Wallace.

Joining Meeking and Dupree on the All-Louisiana First Team were New Orleans' Hector Romero, Grambling State's Paul Haynes and Louisiana-Lafayette's Brad Boyd.
