Techsters lose final two at home
Ruston - Tech (16-38, 6-10) couldn't seem to shut down the Hawaii (37-18, 17-3) offensive attack in dropping both ends of a doubleheader at home for the second straight day this time by the scores of 6-3 and 7-0.
In game one Tech jumped out to an early three run lead after scoring in both the first and second innings.
Jen LaRussa drove in Amber Miles a play after Brittany Stanley had scored on a defensive blunder to give the Lady Techsters an early 2-0 lead after one frame. Tech would score again in the second inning on a defensive mistake to take a 3-0 lead after two innings.
However, Tech's bats fell silent and Hawaii scored six unanswered runs for the victory.
Marla Pinkston (11-17) took the loss for Tech throwing a complete seven innings and allowing five earned runs with six strikeouts.
In game two, Hawaii had their best pitching performance of the four game series as sophomore Melissa Coogan (29-9) shut out the Lady Techsters over seven innings in a 7-0 victory.
Junior Sabra Warner (0-4) picked up the loss throwing five innings and allowing seven runs.
Miles had solid day offensively going four for seven with one run scored in the doubleheader.
Tech travels to California on Thursday for doubleheader at Fresno State.
