ESPN Regional to Televise Louisiana Tech Homecoming
RUSTON - ESPN Regional announced today that it will televise Louisiana Tech's Oct. 18 homecoming contest against Hawaii that is set to kickoff at 2 p.m. from Joe Aillet Stadium.
In addition to ESPN Regional televising the contest against the Warriors, Cox Sports Television in New Orleans will also pick up the feed and broadcast the contest statewide to Cox subscribers.
The contest against Hawaii will mark the first time the Warriors have ventured to Ruston to play football, and it will also mark only the second time the two programs have ever met with Hawaii winning 27-10 in 2000 in Honolulu. Head coach June Jones' squad returns 14 starters and 55 letter winners from last year's team that posted a 10-4 record and participated in the inaugural Conagra Foods Hawaii Bowl.
Two of the NCAA most prolific passers will also be on display as Tech's Luke McCown (9,420) and Hawaii's Timmy Chang (8,502) are ranked No. 1 and 4 on the active career passing yards leaders list.
The announcement marks the third Louisiana Tech football game that will be televised either by ESPN or by ESPN Regional in 2003 as the Bulldogs season opener against Miami Aug. 28th will be on ESPN while both the Hawaii game and the Michigan State contest Sept. 13th will be on ERT.
Louisiana Tech opens fall practice Aug. 4 in preparation for the season opener against Miami. For ticket information, call the Tech Ticket Office at 257-3631.
