Brazil Named WAC Defensive Player of the Week

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech senior defensive back Corey Brazil is this week's Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Bulldogs 41-10 win over SMU Saturday.

Brazil registered a team-high eight tackles, including six solo stops, two tackles for loss for minus 15 yards, his first career sack and his second interception of the season. The West Monroe native spearheaded a Tech defense that forced five Mustang turnovers and kept SMU out of the endzone in the final three quarters.

Boise State wide receiver T.J. Acree was the league's Offensive Player of the Week while Boise State kicker Tyler Jones was the Special Teams Player of the Week.
