Bulldogs Look To Bounce Back Against Green Wave

Louisiana Tech looks to bounce back to a winning track Sunday as the Bulldogs take on Tulane at 12:30 p.m. in the Maravich Center in game three of the LSU Louisiana Classic in Baton Rouge, La.

Tech (0-1) is coming off a 84-63 loss to Louisiana-Lafayette in game one of the Classic while Tulane (0-1) fell to LSU 83-58 in game two.

LSU will face ULL at 3 p.m. Sunday to close out the Classic.

It was a slow start against ULL that proved most costly for the Bulldogs as the Ragin' Cajuns raced to a 47-33 halftime advantage after taking advantage of nine Tech turnovers while outrebounding the 'Dogs 20-12, scoring 16 second-chance points off of 10 offensive rebounds in the first 20 minutes.

Tech managed to win the overall battle on the boards 37-34 but turned the ball
over 12 more times in the second half.

"We have to get off to better start against Tulane than we did against ULL," Tech coach Keith Richard said. "We can't let Tulane get those kinds of second and third chances and we can't turn the ball over that many times and expect to win."

Sophomore forward Paul Millsap turned in a solid showing to lead the Bulldogs
with 25 points and 14 rebounds against Louisiana-Lafayette, but Richard is hoping for better production from the other Bulldogs against the Green Wave.

"Obviously Paul can play and is ready to keep up the pace he set last year as a freshman," Richard said. "But we have to have some other guys step up around him. It doesn't have to be the same guy every game, but we need more overall production from the whole team."

Wayne Powell added nine points and five rebounds for Tech against ULL while
Donell Allick and Corey Dean added eight points each.

The Bulldogs had only seven players score in the opener with only eight points
coming off the bench.

Tulane was led in its game against LSU by guard Marcus Kinzer with 13 points. Kinzer was the only Greenie scoring in double-figures, but the Wave did have 10 different players on the scoreboard.
