Millsap Earns NABC All-District Accolades
RUSTON, La. -- For the second straight season Louisiana Tech forward Paul Millsap was named a first-team selection Friday to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 8 team.
Joining Millsap on the All-District 8 first-team are LSU's Brandon Bass, New Orleans' Bo McCalebb, Louisiana-Lafayette's Tiras Wade and Southeastern Louisiana's Nate Loftin. Second-team All-District 8 selections were LSU's Glen Davis, Arkansas-Little Rock's Brandon Freeman, Southeastern Louisiana's Ricky Woods and Dewarick Spencer and J.J. Montgomery, both of Arkansas State.
Other Western Athletic Conference players selected to NABC All-District teams were Rice's Michael Harris (District 9 first team), Southern Methodist's Bryan Hopkins (District 9 second team), Nevada's Omar Thomas (District 13 first team) and UTEP's Omar Thomas (District 13 first team) and Filberto River(District 13 second team).
Millsap, the current WAC men's basketball Player of the Week, has earned that honor twice this season and has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week three times this season.
The sophomore out of Grambling, La., ranks No. 4 in NCAA rebounds with 11.7 per game and No. 23 in NCAA scoring with 19.6 points per game.
