BOISE, Idaho -- Louisiana Tech faces one of its biggest games of the season Sunday as the Bulldogs play at Boise State in a 3 p.m. contest at Taco Bell Arena.

The Bulldogs have lost three straight and stand at 13-12 overall and 8-7 in the Western Athletic Conference while Boise State is 12-16 and 5-11. Tech has won seven of its previous eight games prior to the three-game losing skid.

Tech has three regular season games left on its schedule and is currently in a three-way tie for fourth place in the WAC along with Fresno State and Southern Methodist. The bottom four teams in the 10-school league will have to play an early play-in game at the WAC tournament, so the Bulldogs are looking for a strong finish to the season starting with the Broncos.

"This is a huge game because where you finish in the conference means a lot towards the tournament bracket and the outcome of your season," Tech coach Keith Richard said. "This is a strong conference and it's important we try to finish at least in that top four or five."

Louisiana Tech took its biggest WAC win ever on Jan. 27 as the Bulldogs turned in their best offensive output of the season in a 93-60 home win over Boise State in the Thomas Assembly Center.

"Hopefully we can play them as well as we did the first time," Richard said. "But they've beaten Hawaii and Fresno State at home, so you know it's going to be tough. We just have to fight through it and try to win these last three games starting with Boise."

Sophomore forward Paul Millsap leads the Bulldogs with 19.8 points and 11.6 rebounds per game and has scored in double-figures in all 25 of Tech's games this season with 18 double-doubles.

Donell Allick, a senior guard, is adding 12.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest for the Bulldogs while senior forward Wayne Powell rounds out Tech's double-digit scorers with 11.1 ppg while adding 6.8 rpg.

Senior guard/foward Jermaine Blackburn tops Boise State with 15.1 ppg while sophomore guard Coby Karl is chipping in 12.6 ppg with for the Broncos.

Jason Ellis, a senior forward, leads the Broncos on the boards with 8.6 rpg.

Tech leads Boise State 5-2 in a series dating back to when the Bulldogs joined the WAC for the 2001-02 season. The Bulldogs have outscored the Broncos 494-451 in the series for an average win of 70.1 - 64.4.

The game will be broadcast live on KXKZ FM-107.5 in Ruston, La. with the pregame show beginning at 2:30 p.m. It will also be streamed live over the internet at www.z1075.com.
