Boxscore LAFAYETTE, La. -- The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (1-5) were barely edged by the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Cajuns (2-5) 65-60 in the Cajundome Saturday night.
?I?m really disappointed for the kids,? Tech head coach Keith Richard said. ?This was probably our best game of the season for us. We played well, but the last three minutes were crucial, and they (ULL) took advantage.?

Chad McKenzie accounted for the first five points of the ballgame for the Bulldogs as Tech took a 5-3 lead with 15:14 in the first half.
Less than eight minutes later and after the Cajuns took the lead back, senior
Terry Parker, Jr., sparked the Bulldogs with a three-point play after a foul to put the Bulldogs down 17-16 with 7:45 in the first half.
Tech?s defense forced two key shot clock violations against a potent Cajun offense and helped give the Bulldogs 21-20 lead with 3:50 on the clock.
ULL took an 8-2 run for the remainder of the half and led 28-23 going into the locker room.
Senior Marcus Elliot got his first points of the night at the 18:05 mark with a two-pointer to cut the Cajun lead to 30-27 after sophomore
Adrian Rogers put a lay-up in on the prior Bulldog possession.
Both teams practically traded scoring, and with 9:33 left in the game, senior
Trey McDowell drained a three-pointer to tie the score 44-44. The Bulldogs capitalized on the momentum and added four points to the lead with 7:03 left to go in the game.
The Cajuns answered with a 9-2 run over the next three minutes, but a pair of free throws by senior
Harry Disy cut the lead to 53-52 with 4:46 left to play.
After a pair of Cajun free throws, Elliot drained another three-pointer to tie the ballgame at 55-55 with 3:37 on the clock. The Cajuns finished the game with a 10-5 run to win 65-60.
The Bulldogs were led by McKenzie with 21 points and nine rebounds. Elliot had his 10 points all in the second half.
Tech returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Thomas Assembly Center against Texas Tech at 7 p.m.
