RUSTON ? Louisiana Tech sophomore Patrick Jackson was the Bulldogs lone representative on the 2006 All-Western Athletic Conference team announced by the league Monday.

Jackson earned second team honors as the special team?s selection after his work on the Bulldogs kickoff return units this season.

The former West St. John?s High School prep star returned 29 kickoffs for Tech this season, averaging 24.2 yards per return which ranked No. 3 in the league.

Jackson became the first Bulldog since 1989 to return a kickoff for a touchdown when he registered a program-tying long 100-yard return against Fresno State in a 34-27 loss on Nov. 24.

In addition to Jackson?s kickoff return duties, the Edgard, La., native rushed for a team-high 854 yards and seven scores this season.
