Millsap Earns National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District Pick
RUSTON, La -- Louisiana Tech junior forward Paul Millsap can tack on another honor to his growing list of accomplishments.
The Grambling product has now been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division-I All-District 8 first-team after having a stellar season averaging 19.7 points and 13.2 rebounds per game.
Millsap joins the ranks of Glen Davis and Darrel Mitchell from LSU, Brion Rush from Grambling and Ricky Woods from Southeastern.
Naming a total of 10 players to first and second teams in 15 districts, all 150 candidates are eligible for the NABC?s Division-I All-American team to be announced at the conclusion of the season.
Millsap pulled away with the lead in the quest for an unprecedented three-peat of the NCAA Rebounding Championship after pulling down 28 rebounds at home Feb. 15 against San Jose State for a 74-63 win. The rebound total shattered to previous Thomas Assembly Center record and was five boards shy of the Louisiana Tech record set by Tech great Charlie Bishop Feb. 28, 1967, against Centenary in Memorial Gym.
