Millsap and Haskins Given All-WAC Honors

RUSTON, La. ? Louisiana Tech?s junior forward Paul Millsap and senior point guard Daevon Haskins have been named to All-WAC teams for the 2005-06 season.

Millsap has averaged 19.7 points and NCAA-leading 13.5 rebounds per game to be placed on first team All-WAC for the second year in a row.

Haskins has been named to the all-defensive conference squad after garnering 50 steals to add to his 146 assists. Millsap was also named to the All-WAC defensive team after leading the team in steals with 51 and leading the conference in blocked shots with 68.

The Chairman of the Boards has been in a tight race this year with fellow rebounder Kenny Adeleke from the University of Hartford, but after his 23 rebound performance Saturday night at Hawaii, Millsap has now taken a 13.5 rpg to 13.1 rpg lead over Adeleke. Hartford lost the first round of their conference tournament this past week, and with their season through, Millsap is in control of his own destiny to complete a first-ever three-peat of the NCAA rebounding championship.

Millsap has also been named WAC Player of the Week four times this season making seven for his career. He currently is averaging 15.3 rebounds per WAC contest and has 65 career double-doubles.

Haskins is nearly garnering a 2-to-1 ratio in assists to turnovers with 146 assists to 76 turnovers. The senior from Baltimore played in his final regular season home game Feb. 27 against the University of Idaho, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to victory with six points and five assists. Haskins in two short years at Tech has climbed all the way up to eighth on the all-time Tech assist chart.
