Techsters Unable to Hang on Leads against San Jose StateBoxscoreRUSTON -- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (6-18; 1-10 WAC) led early in all three games against San Jose State (9-11; 3-6 WAC) Thursday night, but were unable to stay ahead as the Lady Spartans bested the Techsters by scores of 24-30, 29-31 and 22-30.
?We moved some people around to try to look at different things tonight,? Tech head coach Heather Mazeitis said. ?San Jose State is a good team, and we had to have ball control to win this match. We played much better tonight, and hopefully, we can carry that momentum against Nevada.?
Freshman
Taylor Fritz started her first match of the season and made an immediate impact by registering seven kills and seven digs. Senior
Shannon Phillips added a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Senior
Jill Walker put up 25 assists, while junior
Brittney Nakamura tacked on 12 digs.
The Techsters will return to action Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Lambright Intramural Center at 2 p.m.
