Tech Golf Inks Parkway High School Star
RUSTON ? Louisiana Tech head coach Jean Hall announced Wednesday that Parkway High School golfer Cody Santone has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Bulldogs.
?Cody is a very bright, intelligent, hard-working competitor who will fit in very well with what we are trying to do with our program,? Hall said. ?He?s good at everything. He has no real flaws. He has a complete game that just needs refining at the college level.?
Santone has lettered for four years at Parkway for head coach Mike Meredith and helped lead the program to three straight Louisiana Class 4A state team titles. The 17-year-old senior finished second in the Louisiana Class 4A state tournament as a junior and fourth as a sophomore.
?Coach Hall is a great guy and really cares about his players,? Santone said. ?Plus, Squire Creek Country Club is a great facility. All the guys seem like great teammates.?
Santone won the 2006 Louisiana state amateur title as well as the Southern Tradition Four-Ball championship this past summer. He was also the individual champion at the 2007 Southern Tradition Four-Ball Tournament.
Santone, who is the son of Brian and Diane Santone, scored a 32 on his ACT and is a Presidential Scholar.
