Matthew Harvey shot a second round 66 to lead the Bulldogs to a ninth-place finish at the South Alabama Jaguar Intercollegiate Tuesday at Azalea City Golf Course.
Harvey?s six-under-par 66 that he shot in Monday afternoon?s second round is the third lowest round in Louisiana Tech history.
Despite Harvey?s impressive individual performance, Tech head coach Jean Hall said he was not happy at all with his team?s performance.
?I would say Matthew was the bright spot,? Hall said. ?The only bright spot. We didn?t get the job done today in any way. It?s a pattern that we don?t finish well either in the round or on the last day. We are going to find out what the problem is and I am going to fix it. It?s inexcusable.?
Harvey shot a three-round total of six-under-par 210 to tie for sixth place among the 71 golfers participating in the 12-team tournament.
South Alabama?s Daniel Burns defeated Middle Tennessee State?s Kent Bulle in a playoff to capture the individual title after the duo tied with a three-round total of 203.
