RUSTON ? Louisiana Tech?s golf team is ranked 93rd in this week GolfWeek.com collegiate rankings while Bulldog sophomore Matthew Harvey is ranked 107th.

Louisiana Tech head golf coach Jean Hall said he believes that the rankings are the best a Bulldog team or individual have ever received.

Tech is one of three Western Athletic Conference programs ranked in the top 100, joining 53rd ranked Nevada and 95th ranked San Jose State. Thus far, the Bulldogs strength of schedule is ranked as the 48th toughest in the country through their first two tournaments of the season.

Through the first two tournaments of the year, Harvey is sporting a 70.7 scoring average. In six rounds of golf this fall, Harvey has recorded two rounds of under par, two rounds of even par and two rounds of one-over par. The 66 he fired in the second round of the Jaguar Intercollegiate in Mobile was the third lowest round ever by a Bulldog golfer.

Harvey is the second highest ranked Western Athletic Conference golfer, trailing only Boise State?s Troy Merritt.
