LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Louisiana Tech's volleyball program hits the road again Thursday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. to take on the New Mexico State Aggies ( in the Pan American Center.
The Techsters (4-17; 0-10 WAC) picked up a much needed win Tuesday night at home against the Houston Baptist Huskies.
Tech started slowly offensively after only scoring 19 points in the first set. The remaining three sets, however, went completely in Tech's favor by finals of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-17.
Sophomore Taylor Fritz led the Techsters on the night with 12 kills and 12 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Sophomore Kara Jones added eight kills thanks in part to a .278 attack percentage. Tech freshman Natasha Kolunija also finished the night with eight kills.
Defensively, senior Debora Bolonhini finished with 26 digs on the night, while freshman Mallory Stanley finished with 14 digs. Freshamn Kaylon Alexader and sophomore Bianca Bin both totaled 11 digs for the match.
Bin also added 33 assists.
The last time the Aggies played was in Ruston against the Techsters where they were able to pick up the win 3-0.
Tech junior KC Clayton leads the team at 1.97 kills per set.
The match is set to begin at 8 p.m.
