Harvey Finishes Third at First Tee Intercollegiate

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Sophomore Matthew Harvey shot a final round 76 Tuesday to tie for third place at the UALR First Tee Intercollegiate held at Chenal Country Club.

As a team, Louisiana Tech finished eighth at the 15-team event.

Harvey's third-place finish was his fourth top 12 finish in the last five events for the Georgetown, Texas native. His three-round total of 223 fell just short of Central Arkansas' Gideon Pienaar (219) and Steven Lecuyer (222).

Ryan Robertson finished 31st with a three-round total of 232 (78-76-78) while Corey Bartlett placed 42nd (76-81-79=236), Chad Bailey 53rd (87-79-74=240) and Amrith de Soysa 57th (81-81-79=241). Sam Houston State shot a three-round team total of 893 to claim the team championship.

Central Arkansas (899) finished as the runner-up followed by UMKC (911), UALR (912), Missouri State (914), UL-Monroe (918), Oral Roberts (922), Tech (925), Arkansas State (927), Northern Illinois (933), SFA (933), Texas San Antonio (934), Arkansas Ft. Smith (949), Northern Colorado (959) and Centenary (1018).

The Bulldogs return to action next Monday competing in the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond.
