RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech sophomore linebacker Kiamni Washington was named the College Football Insiders national Special Team's Player of the Week for his performance in Tech's win over Southeastern Louisiana last weekend.
Washington picked up his third special teams player of the week award (also named the Western Athletic Conference and the Louisiana Tech Special Teams Player of the Week) after blocking a field goal that led to a TD and forcing a fumble on kickoff coverage that led to another Bulldog score.
The Gibson, La., native also recorded four tackles on the Bulldogs kickoff coverage unit in the game.
Washington edged Houston's Wesley Scourten for the honor.
Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore and BYU linebacker David Nixon were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week by the media outlet.
