RUSTON -- Tickets are on sale for the Louisiana Tech Football Banquet as Bulldog fans are encouraged to come out one final time to honor the 2008 Independence Bowl Champions.

The event is set for Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Louisiana Tech Student Center and is open to all Bulldog fans. Tickets are $25 each or a VIP reserved table of eight can be purchased for $250.

Long-time Shreveport Times columnist and LA Tech graduate Teddy Allen will emcee the event which will include dinner, awards presentations, season highlights and comments from Bulldog head coach Derek Dooley.

It will be the final time for Bulldog fans to recognize not only the accomplishments of this year's team but to bid farewell to this year's senior class.

The 2008 Bulldogs finished the season 8-5 -- the most wins in a decade -- and captured the Independence Bowl Championship title with a 17-10 win over Northern Illinois, the first bowl win by a LA Tech team since 1977.
