Final Stats
CONWAY, Ark. - For the second straight match the Lady Techsters (6-4) struggled with their hitting percentage as they fell to Air Force (6-3) in five sets. Set scores were 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, 21-25 and 19-17.
It wasn't a pretty game on either side of the net as Air Force just barely topped the Techster's hitting percentage of .084 by totaling a hitting percentage of .171 for themselves.
Tech's Nataliya Panova and Natasha Kolunija were the Techsters top scorers for the match. Between the two sophomores they totaled 89 total attacks. Panova recorded her fifth double-double of the season, recording 13 kills along with 13 digs and Kolunija chipped in with 10 kills in the match. Junior libero Lori Hunsucker recorded a career high 21 digs this afternoon while Kara Jones registered an impressive 12 block assists.
Tech would get off to a quick start in the match taking the first set by a score of 25-23. A set in which the Techsters led nearly the entire time. However, Louisiana tech's hitting woes would doom them as they dropped the next two sets 25-18 and 25-21.
There was no giving up for the Techsters though as they battled back to tie the match at two sets a piece, winning set three 25-21 before dropping a nail bighting final set 19-17.
Tech returns to action in the Sugar Bear Classic later today at 4:00 p.m. when they take on Arkansas Pine- Bluff (0-7). The Techsters will finish up the tournament Saturday when they battle ULM (2-5) at 10:00 a.m.
