Game Captains for LA Tech: #43 Dustin Mitchell and #83 Adrian Logan

Louisiana Tech's win Saturday night against Nicholls State pushed the Bulldogs' all-time record over Nicholls State to 4-0. The win also gave LA Tech a 71-28-6 all-time record in home openers in Ruston.

Louisiana Tech has now won six consecutive home openers and six consecutive home openers over non-conference opponents.

Head coach Derek Dooley is now 3-0 in home openers as a head coach.

Louisiana Tech registered 558 yards of offense in the game, the first time Louisiana Tech has posted over 500 yards of offense since Oct. 18, 2008 when LA Tech recorded 556 yards of total offense against Idaho.

Louisiana Tech failed to score in the team's second drive of the game for only the third time in the last nine games. Making up for that, LA Tech scored a touchdown on five consecutive possessions in the second half.

Deon Young returned an interception for a touchdown marking the first time a LA Tech player has returned an interception for a touchdown since Nov. 15, 2008 when both Dominique Faust and Matt Broha both returned INTs for touchdowns.

Deon Young's interception in the first quarter was his first INT of the season. His second interception of the game, coming in the third quarter, marked the first time a LA Tech player has recorded two interceptions in a game since Weldon Brown did so at Ole Miss on Oct. 6, 2007.

Antonio Baker's interception in the third quarter marked his ninth career interception, placing Baker tied for ninth in school history for career interceptions. Baker is tied with six other players with nine career interceptions, most recently being Weldon Brown (2005-08).

Ross Jenkins' 357 yards passing is a career-high for the junior. Jenkins previous game high was 258 yards passing against Nevada in 2008.

Jenkins' 357 yards passing marks the first time a LA Tech quarterback has thrown for more than 300 yards since Zac Champion did so against North Texas on Nov. 4, 2007.

Houston Tuminello's touchdown in the fourth quarter was his first career touchdown reception.

Colby Cameron rushed for a touchdown in his first collegiate drive.

The three rushing touchdowns that LA Tech scored tripled the season total LA Tech had entering the game (one).

Phillip Livas caught four passes for 85 yards in the game, marking the 26th consecutive game Livas has caught a pass in. Livas has now played in 28 games in his career and his streak of recording a catch in 26 straight games ranks 12th in the nation.
