DENVER - Louisiana Tech's Antoinette Cobb was honored by the Western Athletic Conference office Tuesday after being named the WAC Female Track Athlete of the Week.
Cobb, a senior from Weyanoke, La. (West Feliciana HS), won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.34 seconds at the LSU Relays in Baton Rouge, La. over the weekend. Cobb's time of 13.34 is the second-fastest time ran by any female WAC athlete in 11 years, right behind the Louisiana Tech school record mark of 13.28 set by Doria Appleberry in 2005.
This marks the third WAC Athlete of the Week honor Cobb has earned this year, twice being named the WAC Track Athlete of the Week during the indoor season. It also marks the second consecutive week a Lady Techster has won the award with Chasidee Lewis-Baker being honored last week by the WAC office.
Louisiana Tech returns to the track on April 1-4 when Tech travels to Austin, Texas for the 83rd Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
