RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech head coach Kerry Rupp was selected the men's basketball Louisiana Major College Coach of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches.

In his third season at Tech, Rupp led the Bulldogs to their most wins in 25 years with a record of 24-11. It was the second-straight season that Tech improved by nine wins over the previous season.

For the first time in 19 seasons, the Bulldogs received votes in the AP Top 25 Poll and also sported a 10-game win streak for the first time in 25 seasons.

After a fourth place finish in the Western Athletic Conference with a record of 9-7, Rupp led the Bulldogs to a post season birth, the first in four years for Tech.

Once again, Rupp and his staff dominated the state of Louisiana by going 5-0 to improve his record to 12-3 against those teams.
