FRESNO, Calif.-- Louisiana Tech's Vivian ten Dolle was named to the second team all-WAC tennis team in singles as selected by the conferences head coaches and announced at the at the WAC Tennis Tournament banquet Thursday night.
Originally from Gelderland in the Netherlands, ten Dolle was the only freshman in the WAC to compete in the number one position for her team as she was solid in the that position all season for the Techsters. She collected an 18-11 overall singles record on the year with a 13-9 record in dual match play and 5-2 in tournament play. The talented freshman totaled a 3-3 record in WAC singles play while helping the Techster tennis team to the program's first ever Western Athletic Conference match win after topping the San Jose State team 5-2 on April 10 of this year.
"Vivian (ten Dolle) is an extremely hard worker and she is very deserving of any honor," Tech head coach Quintin Yray said. "We are all very proud of her and this accomplishment and we will use this to build for success for next season. Vivian had a great freshman season and I couldn't have asked for anything more from her."
The last time a Tech tennis player received an all-WAC honor was in 2002 when Anabella Duque received the same honor.
