NATCHITOCHES, La. - Sophomore Vivian ten Dolle made her season debut and picked up a win, but the Louisiana Tech tennis team did not as it lost at Northwestern State 6-1 Saturday in Natchitoches.
The Lady Techsters fell to 3-3 on the season and the Lady Demons improved to 6-1.
Playing No. 2 singles, ten Dolle defeated Adna Curukovic 6-2, 6-2 for her first win of the season.
Despite ten Dolle returning, Elne Barnard continued to play at the No. 1 singles position and lost to Olga Bazhanova 6-3, 6-0.
In No. 3 singles Tech's Melanie Urvoy lost to Martina Rubesova 6-1, 6-1 and in No. 4 singles, Anna Zurek lost to Kathrin Lange 6-0, 6-3.
Maartje de Wit was defeated at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-1 to Andrea Nedorostova and Alena Erofeyeva lost a tough match 2-6, 6-4 10-4 (super tiebreaker) to Bianca Schulz.
In No. 1 doubles, the team of Barnard and Zurek defeated Bazhanova and Schultz 8-6. Tech's No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams lost as Northwestern State won the doubles point.
Louisiana Tech will next be in action on Saturday, March 5 as it hosts Jackson State at 2 p.m.
