RUSTON - Junior forward Olu Ashaolu was named the Western Athletic Conference NetScouts Basketball International Player of the Year.
He was also named to the Honorable Mention All-International team.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Ashaolu ranked second in the conference with 14.2 points per game and second with 9.4 rebounds per game. In WAC games only, he ranked fifth with 12.9 points per game and second with 9.4 rebounds per game.
Ashaolu ranks 16th in the nation with 16 double-doubles and 37th in rebounds according to the latest NCAA statistics.
