LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Louisiana Tech recorded its third road win of the season with a 6-1 victory at UALR Saturday in women's tennis.
The win improved Tech's record to 10-6 on the season and UALR fell to 10-12.
The Lady Techsters won two of the three doubles matches to capture the doubles point. Elne Barnard and Anna Zurek teamed up to defeat Yana Kakovkina and Viktoriya Pluyta 8-3 in No. 1 doubles. Tech's No. 3 doubles team of Alena Erofeyeva and Melanie Urvoy defeated Rachel Pierce and Nathalia Garay 8-2.
In singles Tech only fell at the No. 3 position as Melanie Urvoy was defeated 6-0, 6-1 by Rebecca Van Den Houte. In No. 1 singles, Barnard defeated Veronique Luksich 6-2, 6-1. Vivian ten Dolle won her No. 2 singles match over Kakovkina 6-2, 6-2. In No. 6 singles, Erofeyeva defeated Andrea Steen Rosten 6-3, 6-1.
Two of the singles matches went three sets as Zurek defeated Viktoriya Pluyta 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in No. 4 singles and Erofeyeva defeated Andrea Steen-Rosten 6-3, 6-1 in No. 6 singles.
The Lady Techsters will next be in action on Thursday as they host Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2 p.m.
