RUSTON - Five Louisiana Tech student-athletes participated in summer commencement exercises on Thursday at the Thomas Assembly Center as they received their diplomas from Vice President for Academic Affairs Ken Rea.

The graduates represented five separate athletic programs at Louisiana Tech as Matt Broha (football), CJ Scott (men's basketball), Bianca Bin (volleyball), Tarkeisha Wysinger-Mackey (women's basketball) and Krystal Daye (women's track and field) all participated in summer commencement.

Louisiana Tech's student-athletes continue to shine in the classroom. In the most recent Federal Graduation Rate Report released last fall, LA Tech recorded its highest student-athlete Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and its highest four-year graduation rate ever.

The University's student-athletes recorded a four-year graduation rate of 60 percent which ranked No. 1 in the state of Louisiana among Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) public institutions and second among Western Athletic Conference schools.

Louisiana Tech also saw eight of its 16 NCAA sanctioned programs record their highest multi-year APR rates ever while four of the programs registered their highest single year APR score ever. Three of the programs also earned a perfect 1,000 score on the single year rate.

All 16 of Louisiana Tech's NCAA sanctioned programs will be penalty free in 2011-12.
