"I hope we get off to a good start on Monday's morning round," said head coach Jeff Parks. "We need to act and to play like champions, while having fun while we do it.
"The graduation of Clinton (Shepard) is a tough blow but I feel like there could be quite a few guys capable of taking over and stepping up their game to another level. I'm excited about the mix of upperclassmen and underclassman on this team. The program as a whole is continuing to improve and that is what I am most excited about. We have a great schedule that will test our abilities and we will fac some great competition this season."
The competition in Hattiesburg will consist of Southern Miss, UALR, Arkansas State, UL-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, McNeese State, Memphis, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Rice, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana and UAB.
Tech is coming off its most successful season in more than two decades as the Bulldogs won two team titles, earned their highest ranking in decades and recorded their best finish ever in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
In addition to this week's event, the Bulldogs fall schedule also includes the UTA Waterchase Invitational (Sept. 19-20 in Arlington), the Squire Creek Invitational (Oct. 3-4 in Choudrant) and the David Toms Intercollegiate (Oct. 17-18 in Shreveport).
