Final Stats

RUSTON, La. - The Idaho Vandals stormed back in the second set to defeat the Louisiana Tech Lady Techster volleyball team in straight sets at Memorial Gym in Moscow, Idaho Thursday night.

Despite putting up a fight in the final two sets, LA Tech fell by a score of 25-11, 25-21, 25-17 to the fourth-ranked Idaho Vandals in the two teams' final contest as WAC foes.

"This time playing Idaho was very different from the first time we played them at home," head coach Adriano de Souza said. "We had a high number of unforced errors and we are still looking to improve in that aspect."

After dropping the first set 25-11, the Lady Techsters stormed out to a 7-1 lead in the second set, but fell victim to the offensive display the Vandals exhibited to eventually take the set 25-21.

The Techsters were led offensively by a pair of freshman hitters in Tiffany Thomas and Dalane Guidry who had seven and six kills respectively on the night, while Caitlin Germany added to her team-leading blocks with four against Idaho.

"I believe the team will use the next match as an opportunity to do better in its overall performance," he said.

Tech will return to action at 9 p.m. Saturday as they travel to Seattle to face the Redhawks in conference play.
