Final Stats
OGDEN, Utah - Louisiana Tech's tennis team easily handled Weber State 6-1 Sunday at the Ogden Athletic Club to split the road trip in Utah.
With the win, the Lady Techsters improve to 10-4 overall while the Wildcats remain winless at 0-15.
Senior Maartje de Wit and junior Vivian ten Dolle started the doubles portion of the matchup with an 8-2 victory over Nittaya Phonharath and Michelle Warwick. Junior Alena Erofeyeva and freshman Laura Fernandez followed up by defeating Thais Kurer and Carly Lloyd 8-3.
The senior duo of Elne Barnard and Anna Zurek wrapped up the doubles sweep for Tech as they downed Brittany Moor and Ashley Tanner 8-5.
Erofeyeva won her 20th singles match of the year as she defeated Warwick (6-1, 6-1) at the No. 4 position. Ten Dolle also won her singles matchup in two sets against Tanner (7-6, 6-2).
The Lady Techsters other three single wins all came in three-sets as Fernandez defeated Moore (1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7)) at No.1, Barnard downed Phonharath (6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1) at the No.3 flight and at the No. 5 match Zurek took down Annika Karlsen (6-7, 7-5, 6-4).
Weber State won their only point as Kurer defeated de Wit (6-2, 6-3) at No. 6.
Louisiana Tech returns home to take on Grambling at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Lady Techster Tennis Complex.
