Louisiana Tech at Utah State Jan. 26, 2013 Game Notes
• With the 51-48 win, Utah State now leads the all-time series over Louisiana Tech 14-4
• LA Tech won for the first time ever at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah. They were previously 0-7.
• The Bulldogs extend their winning streak to 10 games, tied for the fifth longest in program history. The last time was during the 2009-10 season.
• With the win, the Bulldogs have now won six straight road games tying for the second longest streak in Bulldog history (including neutral site games). The last time was during the 1986-87 season. It's is only the second time ever that all six games were true road games. Only other time was in 1972.
• LA Tech improved their overall record to 18-3, already matching their win total from a season ago with still 10 regular season games left.
• Utah State dropped to 14-5 after their fourth straight loss. It was the first time ever under head coach Stew Morrill (15 years) that the Aggies have lost four in a row.
• LA Tech remains unbeaten in the WAC with a 9-0 record, sweeping the first game of each conference opponent, whereas Utah State falls to 5-4.
• LA Tech starters were Alex Hamilton, Michale Kyser, Kenneth Smith, Chris Anderson and Cordarius Johnson. The freshman guard Hamilton from Chipley, Fla. made his first career start as a Bulldog tonight.
• Senior guard Brandon Gibson had a season-high 20 points, including a career-high six three-pointers.
• Sophomore guard Kenneth Smith dished out a season-high 10 assists and had zero turnovers.
• The Bulldog defense forced 10 turnovers in the first half and held Utah State to their second lowest first half output. Thirteen points was the largest first half deficit for Utah State this season.
• The Bulldog defense held the Aggies to just 15 made field goals, their lowest this season.
• Point totals by both teams (51 and 48) were their season-low.
• Both LA Tech and Utah State only had one turnover each in the second half. The Bulldogs only had four turnovers for the entire game.
• With Gibson scoring 20 points, it marked the sixth different Bulldog player to register at least 20 points in a single game this season. The others have been Kenyon McNeail, Raheem Appleby, Alex Hamilton, Cordarius Johnson and Kenneth Smith.
• The Bulldogs are one of only two teams in the entire country to have 10 road wins (Bucknell is the other).
• LA Tech is one of only seven teams in the entire country to have at least 18 wins along with Kansas, Gonzaga, Syracuse, Wichita State, Oregon and Middle Tennessee State.
