RUSTON, La. - LA Tech defeated the Jaguars, 69-50, Saturday night in the Thomas Assembly Center.
• With a 69-50 victory over Southern at home, Louisiana Tech (7-2, 0-0 C-USA) now leads the all-time series 3-2 between the two teams.
• The Bulldogs are now 2-1 at home for the season, while the team also moved to 7-0 when leading at the half.
• For the first time this season and the third time in his career, Chris Anderson was the leading scorer with 15 total points on the night. Anderson was 5-14 shooting and 5-6 from the free throw line. He also tallied seven rebounds in the victory over Southern.
• After scoring 13 points against the Jaguars, Raheem Appleby moved up two spots on the all-time scorers list, as he now has a total of 1,092 career points, which is 29th in school history.
• Cordarius Johnson moved into sole possession of fifth place with 137 three-point field goals made in his Bulldog career. Both Johnson and Kenyon McNeail also added three three-point field goal attempts on the night, which moves them up on the career list to a tie for fourth place all-time with 432 attempts.
• Kenneth Smith led the Bulldogs with four assists vs. Southern, which gives him 360 assists for his career at LA Tech. Smith is currently in seventh place for assists for a career in Bulldog history.
• Michale Kyser added six blocks on the night to surpass Bulldog legend Paul Millsap for third place all-time in career blocks. Kyser now has 188 total blocks as a Bulldog, five more than Millsap. Coming into tonight's game, Kyser was just shy of Millsap with 182 career blocks.
• With five steals against Southern, Kenneth Smith now has 120 total steals as a Bulldog, which is just five shy of cracking the Top 10 in Louisiana Tech history.
