LA Tech gets back on track in a shootout befitting this age-old rivalry with a 37-24 win over Southern Miss in the latest installment of A Rivalry in Dixie. Holding a slight 17-14 advantage at half it would be the 20 unanswered points in the third and fourth quarter that pushes the Bulldogs over the top. A digital Ryan Higgins steps into his own, throwing for 395 yards and three touchdowns in a 22-for-36 appearance while a digital Scott Cathcart (10 catches, 174 yards) and a digital Jon Greenwalt (three catches, 120 yards) both notch top performances.

The Bulldog offense is hitting on all cylinders in this big win over Rice, a game that could have a say in the final Conference USA West Division standings. The two teams traded scores throughout the game until LA Tech went on a 24-0 run over the span of 14 minutes in the third and fourth quarters, something the Owls would not recover from. The quarterback situation became fluid again as a digital Scotty Young returned from his digital injury and split time with a digital Ryan Higgins. DigJi Banks caught 10 passes for 147 yards and a digital Paul Turner came on the scene with four catches for 85 yards.
