RUSTON - Louisiana Tech defeated Florida Atlantic, 84-64, in the Conference USA opener Thursday night in the Thomas Assembly Center to move to 13-3 on the season and 1-0 in league play.
• With an 84-64 victory over the Owls, LA Tech is 13-3 on the season and riding a five-game winning streak. Florida Atlantic is 4-11 after the loss and is winless in seven games on the road. Louisiana Tech leads the all-time series over Florida Atlantic, 1-0, after notching its inaugural Conference USA win.

• This is the fourth straight game Alex Hamilton has scored in double figures. He has also scored in double-digits in 13 of the 16 games this season. The sophomore totaled 14 points versus the Owls.
• Kenneth Smith had a team-leading eight assists on the night to bring his career total to 409, which keeps him at fifth all-time in Louisiana Tech Basketball history.
