POST-GAME NOTES

- LA Tech captains were Hunter Lee, Tony Johnson, Kenneth Dixon and Houston Bates.

- Today's announced attendance - 18,071.

- With the 27-20 win, LA Tech now leads the all-time series over UTSA, 2-1.

- With the victory, LA Tech improves to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in Conference USA play. It marks just the third time the Bulldogs have started league play 3-0 since moving up to the I-A/FBS level in 1989.

- LA Tech won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half.

OFFENSE

- LA Tech was 4-of-5 inside the red zone bringing its season total to 22-of-25.

- LA Tech scored just six points in the first half, but then scored 21 unanswered points in the first eight minutes of the third quarter. It marked the fourth time this season the Bulldogs have scored at least 20 points in one quarter.

- If Kenneth Dixon rushed a career-high 28 times for 121 yards. The junior is now the all-time LA Tech leader in total 100-yard rushing games with 14.

- With a touchdown, Kenneth Dixon moved into sixth place all-time in career scoring, passing Matt Stover (1986-89). He currently has 264 points.

- Sterling Griffin recorded a game-high six receptions for 70 yards.

- True freshman wide receiver Marlon Watts saw his first action as a Bulldog.

- Facing a third down in the red zone, Cody Sokol hit Sterling Griffin for a 19-yard touchdown pass with 9:01 remaining in the third quarter to give LA Tech a 20-10 lead. It was Griffin's second touchdown reception of the season.

- Kenneth Dixon powered in a rush from three yards out for the touchdown with 7:18 left in the third quarter to give LA Tech a 27-10 advantage. It marked Dixon's 40th career rushing touchdown and 44th overall.

DEFENSE

- The LA Tech defense came into the game ranked sixth in the nation in points off turnovers with 65. They added to that total today by scoring 24 points off turnovers against UTSA, bringing the total to 89 points on the season.

- For a second straight game LA Tech totaled 11 tackles-for-loss in the game. It marked the fourth straight game with at least eight.

- For the third time this season, LA Tech recorded three sacks in a game.

- LA Tech has recorded an interception in five of the seven games played this season. The Bulldogs had three today.

- Terrell Pinson became the fourth member of the Bulldogs roster to record two interceptions in a single game (Bryson Abraham, Adairius Barnes and Xavier Woods).

- True freshman Russell Farris made his first career start as a Bulldog and recorded a game-high nine tackles.

- Linebacker Nick Thomason picked off UTSA's quarterback with 12:07 left in the second quarter, giving the redshirt junior his first career interception.

- On a third down for UTSA inside the red zone, Houston Bates came up with a sack to force the Roadrunners into a field goal attempt that went no good.

- A high snap by UTSA was picked up by Terrell Pinson on the three-yard line and taken in for the touchdown with 11:33 left in the third quarter. LA Tech took its first lead of the game, 13-10. It marked the first returned fumble for a touchdown since Sept. 22, 2012 at Illinois by Antonio Mitchum.

- On the next two drives by UTSA, Terrell Pinson came up with back-to-back interceptions. He came into the game with zero interceptions. The senior also had two pass break-ups.

- After missing the last four games due to injury, Vontarrius Dora recorded seven tackles, including a sack late in the third quarter.

SPECIAL TEAMS

- Carlos Henderson recorded 108 kickoff returned yards, including a season-long 46-yard return in the fourth quarter.

- Jonathan Barnes hit on a 21-yard field goal with 10:19 remaining in the second quarter to tie the game up at 3-3.

- With the clock expiring to end the first half, Jonathan Barnes hit a 33-yard field goal to cut into the deficit, 10-6, at the break.
