After recording only two hits through the first five innings, the Lady Techsters finally found their offense in the top of the sixth inning. Erin Kipp led off with a double to right field and Janine Godwin followed with a single. After Tufi reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases, Duran launched her first career home run - a grand slam - over the left field wall to give Tech the 4-3 lead.
Tech added onto its lead in the seventh. Once again Erin Kipp doubled followed by a walk by Godwin. Tufi then hit her second home run of the season, scoring three and upping Tech's advantage to 7-3.
Belmont threatened in the bottom of the seventh with a single and a LA Tech error but Tufi retired the final batter to end the game.
