With the win, LA Tech now leads the all-time series 9-2-1 with a 5-1-1 record in El Paso

With the 17-15 win, LA Tech head coach Skip Holtz is now 6-0 all-time against UTEP. That includes a 3-0 mark while coaching Louisiana Tech, 1-0 at South Florida and 2-0 at East Carolina.

With the win, Louisiana Tech now has an all-time record of 39-36-1 in games played in the state of Texas. The Bulldogs have won their last four games in the Lone Star State.

UTEP won the coin toss to start the game.

OFFENSE

Jeff Driskel 3,220 passing yards this season which ranks 10th in school history. 9th is 3,246 (Luke McCown)

Driskel only passed for 188 yards in the game ending a straek of six consecutive games with 290-plus yards passing.

Jeff Driskel has 21 touchdown passes this season. (10th in school history is Terry Bradshaw's 22 touchdown passes thrown in 1968).

With only 307 total yards, this game marked the first time all season LA Tech was held under 400 yards.

Louisiana Tech's offense has now scored 417 points this season, ranking fourth all-time in the school's single-season record book.

Kenneth Dixon now has 972 rushing yards this year. He could become the first Louisiana Tech player to ever have three seasons with 1,000-plus rushing yards.

Kenneth Dixon is the nation's active career rushing leader with 4,382 career rushing yards.

Carlos Henderson's two touchdown catches tied a career high, matching his two touchdown catches he caught at Rice on Oct. 30, 2015.

Kenneth Dixon was stopped in the end zone in the third quarter for a UTEP safety, the first safety Louisiana Tech has allowed since Oct. 8, 2011 vs. Idaho.

DEFENSE

Louisiana Tech's defense has held opponents to less than 17 points in eight different games this season including the last five.

Xavier Woods intercepted UTEP QB Ryan Metz in the first quarter marking the junior's eighth career interception. That ranks him tied for 21st (along with Bryson Abraham) among active career interception leaders.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Gerald Shouse's 68-yard punt in the second quarter marked a career-long kick for the punter. His previous best punt was a 58-yard punt against Illinois in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
